Here is a recipe for a hot sandwich that you'll
love...a gussied up version of a BLT.Try it...you'll
like it!

New York BLT
butter or margarine..to butter bread
Rye bread slices...2 per sandwich
prepared pesto...either homemade or commercial
shredded mozzarella cheese
sliced tomatoes..3 slices per..
fried bacon...several slices per sandwich
lettuce of your choice..romaine is especially good
1/2 cup milk and 1 egg ,whisked together
1/2 cup cornmeal seasoned with salt and Italian seasoning
Dip tomatoes into milk mixture,then into cornmeal
mixture,coating evenly.
Fry tomatoes in a couple of TBSP.of hot olive oil
in a fring pan or griddle.Fry until golden on both sides,set aside. Lightly butter the rye bread,place buttered side down in hot pan.Spread about 1-2 TBSP.
pesto on one side of bread.Place some mozzarella
on the other slice of bread ( as much as you'd like).
Place the fried tomatoes on the pesto side,and place the
bacon on the cheese side.Lastly,add some lettuce of your choice.Once the bread is grilled real good and golden,
put the slices together. Excellent grilled sandwich!!!!
