1/8 tsp baking soda
3 Tblsp buttermilk
1 cup flour
4 tsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp + 1/8 tsp salt (3/8 total)
1 1/2 Tblsp shortening

Mix soda and buttermilk. Set aside. In another bowl, mix flour, maple syrup, and salt. Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture. Roll very thin. Score in rectangles. Prick with fork. Bake until golden (5-10 minutes) at 425 fahrenheit.
