Recipe(tried): Fix for oversalty ham

My friend recommended soaking ham in ginger ale overnight to get the salt out and flavor...it works great. She did raspberry ginger ale once and loved it. To remove too much salt from soups, put in one or two whole peeled potatoes, cook for a bit then remove the potatoes. If the soup has potatoes in it, they will be salty. I always add the root veggies last if I am afraid of salt content! Hope this helps.
