Recipe(tried): Reducing Fat - Belva from Indiana

Tips and Tricks - Cooking
I am not sure whether you like pepperoni or smoked sausage links, but the fat content in them can be reduced also by boiling. I put the pepperoni slices in boiling water for 2 or 3 minutes, drain and dry on paper towels. For the sausage links I cut them in 1 to 2 inch links, boil them until done, drain and then put in a skillet and brown. I find this really does help to get rid of the fat. For gravy I use the 98% fat free cream of mushroom or chicken soup. Since I like my gravy brown, after my meat is done, I remove it from the pan, pour the fat off, and wipe the pan down with paper towels, trying not to get too much of the gook on the bottom of the pan off, brown it further and add the soups. Hope this helps.
