The way my french Canadian mom and grandma made this. This recipe is made with the cut-off or tailings of pastry when meat pies or fruit pies are made.

Usually, the kids help to make it.

Roll the ball with all the pieces, not too thin, into a square or close to it. Take some brown sugar and cover the the pastry, leaving the edges clean. Put as much cinnamon onto the sugar, and then add raisins and nuts if you like.

Drop pieces of butter over the mix and roll. Use water or eggs to seal the top and the edges.... it's going to leak anyway, but why lose it all? YUM!

Put into a 375 to 425 oven and bake until golden.

Let cool and slice... if it's still a little warm, lay it out on a plate and put a bit of ice cream on the side.

This is a favourite of French Canadian kids! LOL
