CRISCO FOOL-PROOF CARAMEL FROSTING
1 1/3 cups brown sugar 2 teaspoons corn syrup 1/3 cup milk 1/4 cup Crisco vegetable shortening 1 1/2 cups confectioners` sugar 2 tablespoons hot milk
Boil together brown sugar, corn syrup and 1/3 cup milk until soft ball forms when dropped into cold water (238 degrees F).
Mix Crisco with confectioners` sugar and hot milk. Pour hot syrup over confectioners` sugar mixture. Beat to a spreading consistency.
