PORT WINE CHEESE SPREAD

1 (8 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1/4 cup ruby port wine
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Place the Cheddar and cream cheese in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for about 45 seconds to soften.

Add the port and stir vigorously until the mixture is smooth.

Fold in the walnuts and spoon the mixture into a crock or serving bowl.

Serve at room temperature.

Makes about 2 2/3 cups
