Recipe(tried): Some Ideas for Kid's Party....

Misc.
Hi Daisy,

When I was a first grade teacher, these recipes worked well for me. I tended to have educational themes and outdoorsy type activities.

GARDEN PARTY THEME

The dirt cups are wonderful because you can have a garden theme party, kids just love the gummy bears!! You can also serve "Ants on a Log", these are celery sticks filled with cream cheese and dotted with raisins.

Sandwiches: Cut sandwiches with cookie cutters in the shape of butterflies, flowers, hearts.

Garden Nectar: Make a punch and call it that!

The Gumdrop Tree: They can pick candy from a Gumdrop Tree that has baggies of gumdrops hanging from a branch.

Dirt Cups

8-10 servings

2 c. cold ,milk
1 pkg. (4 servings) Jell-O Choc. Instant Pudding
8 oz. Cool Whip
1 pkg. Oreos, all crushed up

Pour milk into a large bowl, add pudding, beat well. Let stand for 5 mts. to thicken.

Gently fold in Cool Whip and 1/2 of cookie package, all crushed up.

Place 1 T. of crushed cookies in bottom of 8 oz. see-thru plastic cup, fill with mix and top with cookie crumbs. Decorate with gummy bears.

Serve these on a table that has been decorated with pots of plants with pinwheels in them.

At the garden party, the kids can plant a bean in a take home cup, go looking for butterflies and lady bugs and later go fly kites or blow bubbles.
