NINETY-MINUTE WHITE BREAD
3 1/4 to 3 3/4 cups unsifted flour, divided use 2 tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 package Fleischmann’s Active Dry Yeast 1 cup water 1/3 cup milk 2 tablespoons margarine
Mix 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, salt and undissolved yeast. Set aside.
Heat water, milk and margarine until liquids are very warm (120-130 degrees F). Margarine need not melt. Gradually add to dry ingredients and beat 2 minutes at medium speed of mixer. Add 1/2 cup flour. Beat at high speed 2 minutes. Stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough.
On floured board knead until smooth, 4 to 5 minutes. Shape into a loaf. Place in a greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan. Cover; let rise in a warm draft-free place 45 minutes.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes or until done. Remove from pan and cool on rack.
