Recipe(tried): Death By Chocolate Trifle

Desserts - Assorted
I found this recipe in a "fund-raiser" cookbook called "Barbeques, Parties and Potlucks". A fun CHOCOLATE LOVER'S dessert using a trifle bowl or punch bowl.

Death By Chocolate Trifle

1 (21.2 oz) package brownie mix
1/2 cup oil
2 eggs
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup coffee flavored liqueur
OR 4 tbsps strong coffee with 1 tsp. sugar
3 small packages instant pudding mix
6 cups milk
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 (12 oz.) container non-dairy whipped topping
1 package snack size chocolate covered toffee bars, crushed, divided (such as Skor or Heath bars)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare brownie mix with oil, eggs and water in a large bowl, according to package directions. Spread batter in pan and bake 24-26 minutes. Use wooden skewer to poke holes about 1 inch apart in top of warm brownies. Drizzle with liqueur or coffee. Cool completely.

Prepare pudding with milk in large bowl, according to package directions. Set aside.

In a trifle bowl or small punch bowl, break half of the brownies into bite-sized pieces. Sprinkle half of the crushed candies over brownies. Spread half of the pudding over candie pieces. Spread half of the whipped topping over the pudding. Repeat layers ending with whipped topping. Cover and chill. Garnish with chocolate curls. ENJOY!!!
