BREAD AND BUTTER HONEY CUSTARD

3 eggs
2 1/2 cups milk, scalded
1/3 cup honey
4 slices buttered bread
1/4 teaspoon salt
Nutmeg
Cinnamon

Butter the bread lightly on both sides; then cut into 2-inch squares. Distribute squares of bread in custard cups or in a flat baking dish.

Beat eggs; add honey and scalded milk. Pour custard mixture over the bread. Sprinkle each custard with nutmeg and cinnamon. Place the dish(es) in a pan of hot water.

Bake in a moderate oven, 35O degrees F, for about 1 hour or-until a clean knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Makes 8 servings
