SIMPLE MARINARA SAUCE1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup diced onions
2 tablespoons minced garlic
4 cups seeded and diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
Heat oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat. Add onions; saute for 2 minutes.
Add garlic; saute 1 minute.
Add tomatoes, sugar, salt and red pepper flakes; bring to a boil. Reduce and simmer 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; stir in basil.
Makes 2 1/2 cups
