PINEAPPLE GLAZED HAM BALLS
FOR THE HAM BALLS: 1 1/2 lb. ground cooked ham 3/4 cup Quaker or Mother’s Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) 2 eggs, beaten 1 tablespoon firmly-packed brown sugar 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves FOR THE SAUCE: 2 cups pineapple juice 1 cup water 1/4 cup lemon juice 2/3 cup firmly-packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons cornstarch 20 whole cloves
TO MAKE THE HAM BALLS: Combine all ingredients thoroughly. Shape into 16 balls; chill at least 1 hour.
WHEN READY TO COOK: Lightly brown ham balls in small amount of shortening in large frying pan.
Combine all ingredients for the sauce. Pour over ham balls. Cook over low heat about 45 minutes.
