Recipe: Kraut 'n Frank Chowder (pressure cooker)

KRAUT 'N FRANK CHOWDER

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 lb frankfurters, cut into 1/2-inch chunks
2 large onions, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 (16 oz) can sauerkraut, drained
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp thyme
1 tbsp instant beef bouillon
3 cups water

Heat pressure cooker. Add butter and weiner chunks, remove with slotted spoon when browned.

Saute onions and celery in open cooker until tender.

Stir in browned weiners, sauerkraut, bay leaf, pepper, thyme, bouillon, and water. Close cover securely. Place pressure regulator on vent pipe. COOK 5 MINUTES. Let pressure drop of its own accord.

Servings: 4-6
