Recipe: Millsap's Buie House Texas Torte (breakfast casserole)

Breakfast and Brunch
MILLSAP'S BUIE HOUSE TEXAS TORTE

2 tablespoons sifted flour
5 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 (4 ounces) can chopped green chiles
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup grated Monterey jack or pepper jack cheese
1 1/2 cups chopped cooked sausage (or combination of cooked sausage and ham)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat 3-quart round casserole dish with vegetable oil spray.

Put flour in large mixing bowl; set aside.

Beat together eggs and milk. Whisk into flour, getting rid of as many lumps as possible. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into prepared baking dish.

Bake, uncovered, in preheated oven 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until done in center.

TO MAKE AHEAD:
May be mixed together a day ahead, refrigerated overnight and then baked the next morning.
