Recipe: Sweet and Spicy Glazed Chicken (Heinz Ketchup recipe, 1990's)

SWEET AND SPICY GLAZED CHICKEN

2/3 cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup
2 tablespoons apricot preserves
1 tablespoon pineapple preserves
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
2 to 2 1/2 pounds broiler-fryer pieces

Combine all ingredients except chicken; set aside.

Broil or grill chicken 35 to 40 minutes, turning once. Remove skin, if desired. Brush chicken with reserved sauce (boil sauce a few minutes before using for basting). Broil or grill 5 minutes. Turn chicken; brush with sauce. Cook an additional 5 minutes.

Makes 4-5 servings (7/8 cup sauce)
