Recipe(tried): Texas Land and Cattle Jack Daniel's Pie

Desserts - Pies and Tarts
TEXAS LAND AND CATTLE JACK DANIEL'S PIE

FOR THE CRUST:
1 1/3 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

FOR THE FILLING:
1/2 cup butter, softened to room temperature (it's one stick)
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
4 tablespoons Jack Daniel's Green Label Whiskey (I use crown)
1/4 cup flour
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup chopped pecans

To make the crust a SIMPLE way, purchase a 9-inch pre-made graham cracker one at the store. Or......Crush the graham crackers into a large mixing bowl. Stir in brown sugar. Add butter and mix well. Press crust into bottom on an 8-inch pie pan and up sides of dish to within 1/4 inch of the top of the dish. For a soft, gooey pie, set the crust aside to bake when filled (baking the unfilled crust 5 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven produces a crisper crust) I like the gooey version best.

To make the filling, cream the butter and sugar in a small bowl with a mixer on low. Add eggs one at a time, beating to blend after each addition. Add whiskey and beat to incorporate. Add flour, scraping the bowl periodically, until well blended, smooth and shiny.

Fold chocolate and pecans into batter by hand. Pour filling in the prepared crust.

Bake in preheated 250 degree F oven 1 1/2 hours.

Yields one pie.
