Recipe: Honey Barbecue Chicken and Ribs (ketchup-based sauce, baked)

HONEY BARBECUE CHICKEN AND RIBS

1 (3 lb) frying chicken, cut up
2 lb spareribs, cut in pieces
FOR THE BARBECUE SAUCE:
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar or lemon juice
1/2 cup honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Preheat oven 375 degrees F.

Rinse chicken, pat dry.

Mix ingredients for the barbecue sauce in a 13x9-inch baking dish. Add chicken and ribs, turning in the sauce and alternating pieces.

Bake 60 minutes basting every 15 minutes. Turn meats. Bake 45 minutes longer or until tender.
